How to use the defibrillator and precautions

A defibrillator is an essential and important instrument in medical equipment. It plays an important role in critical situations, so it is also a vital part of the use and routine maintenance of the defibrillator. The following are some instructions for the operation of the defibrillator and the precautions after use:

1. Defibrillation must be performed when the patient is unconscious.

2. When rubbing the conductive paste, it is forbidden to rub the two electrode plates with each other, and the rubbing should be uniform to prevent skin burns.

3. Keep the skin clean and dry, avoid the formation of open electrical pathways on the skin surface, and avoid burning the skin.

4. For patients with permanent cardiac pacemakers or ICDs, the electrode pads should be placed at least 10cm away from the pacemaker or ICD implantation site.

5. During defibrillation, the operator and surrounding personnel should not touch the patient or objects connected to the patient, especially metal objects.

6. The defibrillator should be kept clean after use, and the conductive paste on the electrode plate should be cleaned to prevent rust from affecting the conductive function.

7. Keep the defibrillator in a good standby state, place it at a fixed point, check its performance regularly, and charge it in time.
